This study looks at the 2020-2022 alignment and links between social protection programs on the one hand and humanitarian assistance provided by donors and agencies on the other in six countries in the Sahel region: Burkina Faso, Chad, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, and Senegal. The study aims to identify the most effective ways to align the two forms of assistance and the key factors that either enable or constrain this convergence and to provide strategic, policy, and operational reflections on the potential for harmonizing the two kinds of assistance and the value that this could add to the countries of the region.
