Changing the focus of what we do: protection and resilience

The past twenty years have seen a growth in the number of demands on humanitarian actors.

Notably, the protection, resilience and early warning agendas have added to the list of goods and services that humanitarians are called upon to provide for people in need. These approaches have all faced similar challenges surrounding our understanding of what good aid looks like, and how to define, measure and evaluate it. This panel will compare the successes and challenges faced by these change initiatives and the lessons to be learnt for an already overstretched industry.
