Addressing social cohesion in urban humanitarian response (Urban webinar #14)

Date
6 April 2016
Time
12:00 - 14:00, GMT

What is social cohesion in the context of humanitarian response in urban areas? And can it really exist between displaced populations and host communities?

This ALNAP urban webinar explored these issues as part of our ongoing webinar series on urban response. The webinar examined how humanitarians can understand and address social cohesion in urban areas. It focused on case studies from Jordan and the Central African Republic (CAR), where social cohesion programmes have been successfully mainstreamed and have had positive effects, despite ongoing complex country dynamics.
